The New JBeam FW Ti Fairway Wood

DSC03686-Edit

The all new Jbeam Ti Fairway Wood - Titanium and designed to be easy to hit from most lies Jbeam has made another very forgiving FW,  they now have 3 excellent fairway woods that should be considered if you are in the hunt for one,  the RX-FW which is perfect in feel and compact size for the better player,  then the Jbeam Glorious which is more shallow,  larger and more forgiving that we found very long and easy to hit as is and now the TF series which is Titanium instead of stainless with a cut away channel similar to Royal Collection  this design is interesting because its shallow,  oversized at 210ccs in the 3 wood but the CG is designed more forward so while you should have an easy time getting the ball up yes even from the rough it still wont balloon on you.  Beautiful fit and finish to it as well... Grandista Type-S Driver Review

DSC03623-Edit

A few weeks ago we reviewed the Grandista DAT55G Driver head and today we have the same model except with an SP700 material face and silver highlights on the crown and face,  So why produce 2 drivers both with the same design yet just different face materials?  Its really about preference of feel,  Yoshida-san former tour pro and founder/designer of Grandista was able to produce a slightly softer feel and sound at impact with the SP700 model yet with the same  CT "Characteristic of Time" that the ball is compressed against the face and in this case it's VERY high at CT=257 for both the DAT55G model and the SP700 model.   Yesterday I was able to hit both models together so please follow the jump for what I found the difference was...

DSC03629-Edit

First off it's a top notch club,  it's medium/high launch takes just enough spin off the shot to help straighten but not too much,  I have my sample shafted with the new Fujikura Evolution II 661 shaft which is jam packed with tech and materials not to mention a good cost effective choice,  this combo produced a mid/high trajectory that was very straight compared to most,  not Jbeam straight but it also has more spin than the JB's do.

It's got a shape that works and look good personally I like the way the black finish face looks in the DAT model but this SP700 model I like for feel and sound between the two for sure,  The Sp700 just sounds a more softer crunch,  maybe a hair more hollow where the DAT55G version feels hotter but that doesn't mean longer its a harder crunch at impact and a lower pitch sound.  Outside of that the sole does look better in Black.  Putting all that aside I think I would go with the SP700 and most likely stick with one of these EVO II's if on a budget and of course a Sanki or 7D shaft with no budget.

DSC03638-Edit

At address I would say its among the top 5 out today,  rounded just the right way but doesnt look oversized or even remotely closed at address,  one of the best parts is when ordering with TSG due to our direct relations with Yoshida-san we can get very custom specs similar to what we are able to offer for our J-Beam clubs,  for example need a 9.25* loft?  no problem,  0.75* closed club face for sure this is fine.  Head weights go up to 200g custom requested.

DSC03634

Just a little bit more about Grandista,  while currently they only have 1 driver in 2 versions the new fairway wood is on it's way and looks to be promising with same key design theories as the driver but also a fairway with DAT55G face materials.  TSG will be adding the Type-S Grandista Driver to the proshop this week,  if you need custom spec or custom builds please contact us directly at info@tourspecgolf.com to help you figure out the best specs and options for your game.

Seven Putters Slowly Trickle in

Seven Kyuzo Putter

The brand SEVEN has been around for less than a year although the Kyuzo.01 putter was started years prior with a small batch of 10pcs done with the help of Golds Factory in modifying the blank SEVEN heads, they were beautiful yet very expensive so we decided the new goal would be to make something that had the quality and performed and felt as close to the original and rare 10pcs as possible.  The requirements were simple, it had to be made in Japan by the best people using the best  designs and materials as well as provide a wide array of custom options prior to release earlier this year we were informed very few putters could be allocated to us by our factory,  doing our best we produced that amount and nearly all sold out in the first month pre booked to customers and shops all over the world and that is why some may have seen them in Thailand or Korea already prior to official launch.  At the time of this post there are less than 20 putter heads available to offer.

It has an incredible fit and finish,  it rolls end over end with minimized skipping, and feel oh boy yes not to soft and not so firm just right we sourced metal materials from the best supplier we could find in Kyoto Japan testing SUS303, 304, SM490A, Fe Carbon, etc..  In the end we decided on something firmer than carbon but softer than stainless so we selected SM490 giving a dense and buttery vibration going from the head, through the shaft, and up to the hands.   Every putter can be modified we bring in the raw heads in and can bend and finish, assemble, and paint fill per order above you see NiCr Satin with translucent red paint fill,  Follow the Jump to read and read about and see more putters...

DSC01730-Edit-Edit copy

At address it's all business,  the shape is made by CNC then polished by hand to smooth out the edges,  in the Kyuzo model as seen here it's 350g where as our prototypes were 370g yet also had a thicker top line,  some customers have ordered the word SEVEN paint fill free while others color it up but everyone agrees it also works as alignment and is a simple and elegant placement location for the logo and finally for those who are minimalists we do have a few blank sole heads in stock as well reserved for Gold's Factory modifications.

XF5A3174-Edit

Our Deep mill marks dampen harsh vibrations while amplifying softer ones, at impact the ball is still rolling end over end even with a wet putter face,  we tested four new milling designs then made several rounds of adjustments to each and found this to be the best of both worlds in pure soft feel and roll. While looking dead on at this face face of this putter has a nice even design with no awkward angles or shapes and the edges are hand polished meticulously.

Below the sole and while quite busy  makes a statement ( we have special blank themes reserved ) in the photo below you can see the original Kyuzo.01 has a large beautiful reverse engraved Kanji,  it says SM490A + Machined in Japan boasting where the putter is made and of what material.  You want a putter made in Japan there is no place better it can come from,  and finally some customers are going with no paint fill in the Kanji and that looks great  in my opinion.

DSC01732-Edit-Edit copy

We have many finishes, shafts, grips to choose from and over the next couple of weeks we will highlight some of the custom putters our members and clients have been making.  Smoked Copper just like the Cold Forged wedges has been most popular,  as well as our new polished soft black, I'm a big fan of NiCr Satin with a polished sole,  optional your choice of particular areas that can be hand polished or not so you can opt out for a no glare flat anti sun look or request custom hand polish for a more mirror like finish on the sole or even everywhere as the putter on the image below is soft black polished completely, which is gorgeous and feels even softer.

Putter below are the limited heads we reserve for golds factory modifications,  these have minimal stamping anywhere and can be custom themed by Master Sasaya.  the head weights are already 350 & 370g allowing you plenty to work with, without the need for weights.

Seven-Blank-Sole

If you are interested please email info@tourspecgolf.com  the Seven Putters come in a double box the inside box is a beautiful black textured and cloth lined with a very high quality collaboration carbon cover between Seven & Como Come.

Mizuno MP-5

Mizuno Yoro MP-5 Irons - Behold a completely insane set of Mizuno MP-5's custom crafted by Mizuno Japan Yoro Dept,  these are spec'd to the brim with a ton of options.

If your not familiar with the Yoro program basically its a selection of custom options that go beyond what most golf equipment manufactures offer,  hand ground by the same fine people who make the Tour players irons and influence the R&D process.  Ready to see more?  Follow the jump...

MP-5 Yoro Edition Irons

Hows this sole grind?  Ever seen it before?  Years back there was a limited set made for friends of Mizuno in Hokkaido Japan and TSG aquired one of them,  this is the same sole grind we call Hokkaido grind,  Mizuno doesn't officially call it that but TSG does and boy do we love it,  best sole grind for steep descending players without a doubt and it was replicated beautifully on these MP-5's.

Twilight Finish - I'm sure you notice this also,  it's a plating or can be considered like a Dark Chrome popular with the hard core enthusiests as its durable, dark, and just looks really good on iron and wedge heads.

Box Toe Custom Grind Irons

The offset or in this case known as FP (face progression) has been reduced/increased meaning there is 0.5mm less offset than the original MP-5.  For many blade players the less offset the better.

Mizuno MP-5 Forged Yoro Craft Irons

The top line and toe are boxed off a bit with the toe being sharper and the top line being straighter,  this gives the player a more focus oriented appearance at address,  it also makes the back face look more edgy and angular.

Mizuno offers custom stamping options for certain models,  the MP-5 only has 3 options and we went for a version that offered 4 characters of custom letters or a word and decided to leave it blank,  these MP-5's actually dont say MP-5 anywhere on the head.

DSC06406

As you can see below custom grinds have a big influence on the way the shape of the irons face appears,  less curved and rounded in the top line,  box toe with a very high and sharp peak.

The twilight finish looks mirror from some angles or completely black from others.

DSC06401

We custom ordered the words "Grain Flow Forged" to be removed from the neck and had them shaft these up at D3/D4 with Modus 125 Stiff shafts which are awesome for those who want a tight workable dispersion that is low,  stronger players love the feel and performance of these,  I like to think of them as an X100 had a baby with an NS950 to make the Modus 125 Tour.

DSC06409

Mizuno’s “ON FIRE” Yoro MP-R5L Series Wedge!

DSC06647

Yesterday we had the boat load of inquiries asking about those tricked out MP-5's in the previous blog post,  today we want to follow up with another truly unique item from the team at Mizuno's Yoro Craft department,  these guys deserve some praise and as I said yesterday Mizuno comes second to none in having a custom options department that no other brand comes close to touching.

Introducing the Japan Only Mizuno MP-R5-L Wedge geared toward the player who comes into the ball steep,  there are two versions of the new R5 the W & L and the W is for the slider or golfer who's impact comes into the ball more level,  as a steep swinger myself I had to get what I could hit best so the L it is.  Great pics after the Jump so please follow...

DSC06653

This wedge is forgiving yet from address it looks damn near perfect reminding me of a Vokey kinda,  Mizuno has also implemented what they call a reverse taper blade design where they allocate more weight to the back portion of the club head to increase the MOI as well as RBI in a verticle direction to keep shot trajectory more stable. The new groove pattern also varies from loft to loft so that spin matches the type of shot the golfer hits.

DSC06648

So these are obviously Yoro Craft wedges they are not stock setup,  first thing to note is this wedge is 100% RAW as in no finish at all,  these came double wrapped with oil to prevent them from rusting during shipment,  we also went with a custom stamping configuration that removes run bird logo up top replacing it with the option engrave custom characters or none if you prefer the blank look.  Custom grinds are available but after looking at the standard grinds I don't think they are necessary I mean this wedge has great killed trail edge to open the face as well as heel and enough toe relief to have some fun with shot creativity.

DSC06645

Forged of S25CM/1025E these feel buttery soft almost sticky especially hitting them naked with no finish,  spin is noticeably above average and the wedge is extremely forgiving making them very similar to the 2016 seven wedge which is also soft/forgiving/plenty spin.

DSC06650

Available in 50/52/56/58* lofts you can also order these with custom grinds,  finishes, and stamping configurations for an additional cost from the YORO dept by contacting us at info@tourspecgolf.com.

Taylormade Royal Gloire Driver for Japan

DSC06691

Taylormade Royal Gloire Driver - A Graphite Composite Face... that isn't something we see very often in golf especially a face that looks as out of the ordinary as this driver,  and whats with no adjustability whatsoever?  This is common in Japan yet in the states adjustability is very popular.  Don't ask why ;)

This face is a lightweight carbon material that features a new widened inverted cone technology that supposedly creates a hotter ball velocity that is stable and straight.  Designed for the slower swinger,  female or senior golfer it's touted as the most premium club Taylormade has produced and with a price nearing $1500 usd it's geared to a very specific segment.  Even if that's not you have a look at this very interesting and intriguing club,  and if you are in the segment this caters to I suggest having a read by following the Jump...

DSC06686

So I'm not going to be able to hit this club,  its not for my swing type so I'd rather offer it to someone who it matches then ask their feedback on performance.

With the composite face made of graphite composite + a thermo urethane the head sheds 30g in weight and redistributes that along the bottom of the club head,  Its entire body is made of Alpha Beta Titanium which is some very good stuff, only 13* loft is available with 2 different shaft options.

DSC06665

Green Shaft is a low kicking 42 gram shaft playing at 46.25 inches long,  obviously for the smoother slower swinger its still balanced at D3 mostly due to it's longer length.  The Silver shaft is slightly heavier at 48g with a mid kick,  no flexes offered.  Green is best for swing speeds of 71mph to 82mph while the Silver for 80mph to 91mph.

DSC06683

Taylormade does not disclose the face angle but it looks about 1.5* closed to my eye,  head volume is a full sized 460cc's.

DSC06661

Beautiful quality and details all around.

DSC06668

Above a picture of the Silver version shaft.

If you would like to purchase this is limited and few are available so head on over to the official listing,  we have a great price not the 1500 mentioned but 1200 follow this link to get there: "Click Here"

Mizuno MP-55 Yoro Craft Irons

DSC06724

Mizuno MP-55 Yoro Craft Irons - In Japan Mizuno offers the MP-55 instead of the MP-25 why?  I don't know but  I do know after hitting the MP-55's that they are indeed special irons that with the help of Mizuno's hand crafters at their Yoro deptartment can configure these irons to fit a wide range of players from professional to mid/high handicappers by making adjustments to the top line thickness,  sole and grinds along with face progression also known as offset.

Forged of S25C /1025E it is the evolution of the MP-54,  Ready for more pictures and a break down of this beautiful club?  Follow the Jump to read on...

DSC06716

Please take note that these irons are not standard,  they are heavily modified this one here is in their beautiful twilight finish and in the photo above you see a custom Hokkaido sole grind which is an aggressive leading edge relief that comes to a point near the center of the clubs sole this does especially well for steep swingers as its not sharp and helps reduce digging.

The below photo shows it from address,  we kept the top line the same thickness as standard but went ahead and added a half millimeter of face progression which is 0.5mm less offset basically,  this gives the iron a better visual at setup catering to the preference of the traditionalist or elite player.

DSC06733

The new MP-55 features a new V-SLOT  undercut cavity making it more forgiving on mishits and more distance when struck center.  The MP-55 features a deeper center of gravity and a lower sweet spot position along with stronger lofts,   this combo provides more distance and an easier time getting the ball airborne especially in the longer irons.

DSC06739

Below shows a photo of it's unique and deep cavity structure.  While this set is totally tricked out for the standard model Mizuno's craftsmen improved the shape by giving the iron a sharper more square look to provide the look a tour player desires with the performance the average golfer can handle.

DSC06725

Here is what we custom ordered for this set:

MP-55 5-PW
- Hokkaido Sole Grind
- Grind sharper toe and straight top line
+0.5mm Face Progression (less offset)
- Remove "Grain flow Forged"
- Dark blue (Mizuno blue) paintfill for logos
- Twilight Finish
- Nothing on Hosel
- Modus 105 Stiff
#5 based on 38"
- D3 3-9 / D4 PW

DSC06738

I actually prefer the shape of this head to the MP-5's it inspires confidence with this shape,  less boxy than the MP-5 Yoro but still a tall peak point on the toe which not only looks good from face on but it looks killer delicious at the back face a more edgy and aggressive look in my opinion.

DSC06737

The short irons starting at #8 have no undercut thru PW,  even with the undercut these irons feel pretty dense and not clicky at all,  my review is with the standard model not the Yoro version but I was very impressed with this clubs performance,  first it feels excellent even with an undercut,  next it was a little longer all day than the already strong lofted ONOFF Kuro forged irons which I absolutely adore,  the shape I give the nod and while the lofts were stronger for more distance the trajectory was not as low as expected,  I am very familiar with Modus3 125 and it is one of my go to accuracy shafts which I have played in Stiff soft step or Regular hard stepped after hitting the MP-55 extensively over the past couple of weeks I hope more people consider these as they are truly good all around performing irons much like the onoff kuro forged is.

DSC06503

Above is the #8 iron of the MP-55.  Interested in owning a set?  please inquire with info@tourspecgolf.com stating what model you want and what options you had in mind,  another good way to see more good examples is to type Yoro in the TSG blog search bar.

Geotech T-215 Japan Forged Irons

DSC06700

The new Geotech T-215 irons are forged of S25C in Japan and feature a three layer cavity back created to be balanced and centered on the club head,  It's finish is Nickel Chrome Satin with a sand blasted top line to help reduce glare.

The sole is multi-cut with a slight leading edge relief yet with a noticeable trailing edge grind to help if in tough lies,  the new Geotech T-215 is considered a straight neck iron with minimal offset  available in 4-PW, the lofts are what I consider normal with the PW coming in at 45*. Geotech recommends the new T-215 with the Modus3 130 and we would suggest this for players in the 0-20hcp range.  Custom builds include nearly any shaft and grip combo from Japan and the lofts and lie angles are adjustable by 2* either way at the factory.  You can also purchase head only.  Follow the Jump for more photos...

DSC03792-Edit

One of the most underrated players drivers has been discontinued,  it seems Maruman who are near the top of the food chain in the luxury segment has a difficult time cracking the better players market.   The Vanquish XR was a driver I didn't consistently hit well but there was a nice stretch of weeks I was in love with it and yes with a stock shaft.   It's a 460cc head with a deep dark look to it made of grade 5 Titanium and a proritary face called 438FG-X even the hosel was fullerene Titanium.  Stock shaft is 50T carbon + fullerene carbon in silver IP and black gradient.  Everything about this club was right,  it just didn't get the traction it deserved,  lets hope they use a similar model in what we hope to be a future XR series.  More pics after the Jump...

Titleist AP1 FORGED Irons | Korea Model

Titleist-AP1-Forged-Irons-Korea-Model

Titleist AP1 Forged Irons Korea Spec Model - Titleist Japan had the VG3 series along with the Cold Forged Vokey and full release T-MB 716 irons on top of  the full selection of retail models that Titleist offers,   Korea has always had only 1 exclusive model and this year again its the AP1 Forged iron but in the latest 716 series.

The AP1 Forged is a cavity back with distance and forgiveness in mind It features a deeper undercut cavity creating a low CG,  the lofts are strong and both heel and toe have tungsten weights to keep MOI up.  All around these are very similar to the standard release AP1's but where it differs greatly is in feel,  the Korea Only AP1 "Forged" Irons feel closely related to the VG3 and T-MB irons and we are thankful for that.

DSC06918

Designed as Titleist's most forgiving forged CB these are mid sized irons  they are not small nor are they big I would say that they cover a wide range of skill levels from pro to high handicap and what I mean by pro is senior tour level or ladies tour not so much PGA tour as those guys prefer compact sized iron heads.  More photos and information after the jump...

DSC06862

With the undercut it's thin face has more rebound for faster ball speeds,  with the tungsten not only is the MOI higher but weight distribution is more balanced and combine strong lofts with better ball speed and you have a recipie similar to the T-MB in that for an MB it was much longer and easier to hit than the other blades,  well same here for it's size these are more forgiving than one would expect.

DSC06873

The 716 AP1 Forged will not be easy to get,  they are only sold in Korea and not even Japan has them,  TSG has only a few sets left 4-PW NS950 Regular Flex that will be added to the pro shop shortly.

DSC06883

Can you see the resemblance to the T-MB?  It's rounded toe and thick curved angles and even face on show's they share similar DNA.

DSC06877

Below the address pic shows fairly minimal offset and not such a thick top line,  Titleist always gets this right with a good balance between game improvement qualities yet without compromising aesthetics while you stand over the ball.

DSC06894

The sole is not so wide  it's rounded in all corners and even features a pronounced and more rounded leading edge this is something we see more brands doing off the rack  killing the edge which helps both steep and shallow swings.

DSC06868

Undercut on the heel side of the club head with tungsten on the toe.

The PW has no undercut design at all.

TSG Club Works | Titleist Cold Forged Vokey | Custom Finishes

$

DSC07215

The Cold Forged Vokey has been one of the most popular wedges sent to TSG Club Works for a refinish and in the above image you can see why, here we have a beautiful copper satin that at sunset or sunrise will glow almost orange.  Some of these finishes are not for the faint of heart let's take for example copper mirror or satin each time the oil from your fingers touch this finish it leaves a fingerprint in a darker bronzy color that over a short period of time becomes a rusty patina immune to glare or glow as it once was.

Below is copper mirror and like the satin it wears easily,  you never lose the copper you simply gain the patina over it and it is an acquired taste,  Please follow the Jump to see more images of cold forged vokey refinishes including black oxide,  black boron and copper mirror + satin...

DSC07218

Copper Mirror is like copper chrome it's a reflective surface created by polishing,  it rusts quickly but does not form a thick rust rather a thin tarnish that over time creates character some would say,  the copper mirror finish produces a softer feeling at impact.  TSG Clubworks charges $65.00 per head for finish + paint fill.

DSC07209

(above) Coper Mirror Face

DSC06953

Black Boron - A durable plating and the only black finish to hold up almost as well as other platings,  usually black finishes are a coating or a process on the metal while black boron is a plating like chrome or satin where it can withstand much more usage before stripping away and for this reason it's a popular choice for people who like a dark style but do not like rust.

DSC06972

Copper Mirror

DSC07229

DSC07216

Black Oxide will wear very quickly,  many players like it because with use it reveals bare metal on the sole and impact spot,  you get the good feel of raw with some rust resistance in the un hit areas.

DSC06933

Copper Satin is a finish like copper mirror but it has been polished in a different way,  almost brushed to show a dull and less reflective finish on the club head,  this like the copper mirror will change constantly into different hue's and colors over time.

Japan Only Mizuno MP-55 Irons by Yoro Craft

DSC06454

Over the last couple of weeks we have been teasing with multiple Yoro Craft editions by Mizuno absolute works of art hand ground with possibly the best crew on the planet to do such,  Today an all NEW model that is Japan Only Introducing the MP-55.

The retail MP-55 is no slouch at all either and every bit as good possibly better for the masses but what I'm showing here today is the hardcore version.  Forged of S25C /1025E this iron is Made in Japan and  comes finished in Nickel Chrome Mirror standard.  We had ours tricked out quite a bit with the goal of it looking as compact and "player" as possible yet maintain the forgiveness of the original.   Misson accomplished!  Read On....

DSC06471

First off,  it's a deep cavity as you can see in the pic above an evolution from the MP-54 the new MP-55 features a new V-SLOT  undercut cavity making it more forgiving on mishits and more distance when struck center,  The MP-55 features a deeper center of gravity and a lower sweet spot position along with stronger lofts,   this combo provides more distance and an easier time getting the ball airborne especially in the longer irons.

Mizuno's craftsmen improved the shape by giving the iron a sharper more square look to provide the look a tour player desires with the performance the average golfer can handle.  TSG took it a step further by reducing the offset,  adding a W Grind to the sole and asking Team Yoro to grind a sharper toe and straighten up the top line... on top of a few other important aesthetic features.

DSC06460

(Above)  Usually the top line has a curve in it, usually the toe is a less sharp.

(Below) This is the W-Grind,  a nice pronounced leading edge relieft along with some trailing edge relief,  this helps players who come in a touch steeper,  nothing too drastic of a change as it's versitile and works well with most types of turf and swings it's a popular request.  If you look back in the blog the MP-5 in Twlight has the Hokkaido grind which is for an even steeper descending swing.

The specs below for those who want the same...

DSC06473

It's a beautiful Iron all around,  Mizuno is offering these  5-PW as the base set with optional #4 iron,  TSG suggests the #4 iron because it's very forgiving.  I have not hit these Yoro's yet but I have had a decent amount of time with the retail MP-55,  it's soft dispite such a deep undercut,  the short irons don't have the undercut of course,  the retails rival the ONOFF forged in forgiveness,  they beat the Kuro's in setup/offset/size yet while soft not full face soft like the Kuro's.  I would still take these over the Kuro's it's a near perfect package for pro level all the way up to 20 handicap.

DSC06462

Distance is on par with most players irons so it was not the longest and this is by design with a PW that is 46* Mizuno was not going for big distance instead today's semi traditional lofts.  So to sum these up a players iron that have plenty of forgiveness,  a soft feel despite having an undercut, and semi traditional lofts making this a players club for the masses.

Introducing the New 2016 Limited Edition SEVEN CB - Forged and Hand Ground in Himeji Japan with Steel Sourced from Kyoto the new Limited 2016 CB features a top line that is 0.75mm thicker than the original Seven Cavity Blade.  The center bump within it's CNC milled cavity has been widened and increased in size for better feel and forgiveness,  with slightly more offset than the original this appeals to the same segment of player who would consider ONOFF Kuro or other semi mid sized CB irons,  the lofts are modern traditional with the PW coming in at 47* these are Limited to only 25 sets made worldwide.  Follow the Jump for more photos...

DSC01342-Edit-Edit

The shape of the face has been improved to fit between a box toe and tear drop shape to appeal to the athlete player or those who want a semi mid sized head although still compact compared to most irons on the market.  Forged of SS400 which is basically S20C but rated on tensile strength instead of carbon content it's feedback is soft yet not gushy,  you have a very soft impact at center while out on the toe its firmer yet still dense.

The sole has a killed leading edge and slight trailing edge and is still narrow only a touch thicker than the cavity blade seven released during launch last year,   both steep diggers and sweepers find this sole versatile working well in both soft and dry conditions.

DSC03713-Edit

The Below image shows you the increase in top line thickness and slight increase in offset.

DSC00884-Edit

The cavity is deeper,  the CG is lower making it fairly forgiving,  we removed the words SEVEN in the cavity near the heel in exchange for a lone logo out toward the toe.  Custom translucent paint fill is available per request,  no custom finishes will be offered on this limited edition.

DSC01529-Edit-Edit

Finished in high gloss satin it is the ideal compromise of feel and durability.  although not shown in the images,  very small on the neck is the Kanji for Japan to signify our pride for the quality and location it has been made.

New Mitsubishi Oti75/105 & KuroKage XM50 Announced!

Mitsubishi OT Shafts have been highly suggested by TSG since release because they feel great,  are very user friendly producing easy launching and accurate results and they are somewhat reasonably priced for a top performing carbon shaft.

Mitsubishi has just announced 2 new weights,  the i75 and i105,  this gets me excited as I'm a big fan of the i95 I was waiting for something a bit heavier and I think 105 is really optimal for a lot of players.

Also a new light weight KuroKage XM is coming early next year geared to players who want a lighter weight shaft perhaps due to a smoother tempo and transition which will ultimately aid those players in gaining more distance,  we always say use the lightest shaft that you can control with the accuracy you want and considering these are coming in X flex Mitsubishi is covering all it's bases.  More info to come closer to release and at the 2016 Japan Golf Fair.

New Crazy Toyoshima 104W Wedges by TSG Club Works

DSC07700-Edit-Edit

Crazy Toyoshima 2016 Wedge -  Isn't she lovely?  The standard finish is satin while this one is TSG Club Works modified. We receive the heads from Crazy then send it to a Japanese copper factory where they are dipped,  then several weeks later we get them back and soak them in a chemical agent to apply its outer most dark layer for a beautiful smooth finish that we have dubbed "Smoked Copper"

We have been perfecting our smoked copper finish,  this is the latest iteration it's different from before as its smoother visually in its darker areas and applied more evenly.  Kaizen as they say,  always improving.   Enough about the mod job it recieved as these wedges are some of the best and those who know anything about Toyoshima-san's wedges or have ever owned a Crazy Wedge can automatically assume these will play just as good if not better than previous versions.  Follow the Jump we have 2 more finishes to show you and photos from all angles...

DSC07714-Edit

How about Black Boron with Red Paintfill?  It doesn't rust and looks like flawless to my eye,  known to provide a slightly firmer feel at impact it doesn't do that to this wedge for some reason it's still soft and dense like a cold stick of butter when the ball meets the face.

DSC07716-Edit-4 copy

It's not Chrome it's TSG's Soft Black + Hand Polishing process,  it reminds me of a dark chrome finish and without the hand polish process its a darker matte grey with no glare,  this finish does wear and beautifully it equals copper in it's soft feel,  almost sticky at impact.

DSC07797-Edit-Edit

Another shot with what will likely be our members favorite finish,  everything smoked copper has been a hit lately.

Below an address image,  this wedge is more tear drop in shape that previous models.

DSC07707-Edit-Edit

The sole grind has a slight trail edge relief while the leading edge is killed nicely but not drastically,  Toyoshima-san identified this as perfectly versatile for steep and sweep hitters,  the face can be opened with ease and as you go higher in loft even more so as the size of the killed trailing edge increases.

DSC07677-Edit-Edit

Again below more tear drop than the previous model also hard to see but these faces are CNC milled grooves and mill marks making them extra sharp,  they are conforming yet yeild more spin than your average wedge.

I'm going to give you some alone time with these so I will stop writing and let you drool over the images of angles and finishes below,  Just an FYI we do have these very same wedges used for photos available in 52/58 sets saving you the 4 week lead time it takes to make these custom.  So please inquire with info@tourspecgolf.com they are 500 + Shipping for the set of 2 heads in any of these finishes.  You can also order these in a few other finishes with custom paint fill if you do decide you are willing to wait it out.
